Flag of the Republic of Jeuna (1953-1961)

During the Tairendian-Jeunese War, which began with the invasion of northern Jeuna on 10 May 1947, and lasted until the establishment of the two-kilometre-wide DMZ on 10 April 1956, a futurist movement, which had been gathering momentum since the 1930s, launched a coup in 1953 to overthrow the Republican government. Bolstered by the population's perception of the current government's mismanagement of the war effort, the Futurists soon consolidated their rule as Republican politicians and their business allies fled the country, and pushed the Tairendians back across the border. The Republican flag would not fly again until 1998.
